Innovative control panel for SBB toilets: technologically advanced and geared towards the future

After 30 years, SBB was faced with the task of modernizing the WC facilities in its IC coaches. The control panel for light, toilet flushing, water, soap and hand dryers was a central component of this modernization. The panel not only has to withstand extreme stresses from tens of thousands of passengers every day, but also be resistant to vandalism. In addition, operation must be intuitive and accessible for all user groups - including visually impaired people.

AGNOSTIC Joystick - Precision at micrometer level

The Agnostic joystick from Algra offers versatile, high-precision control, ideal for industry and medical technology.

Challenge: In projects that require the highest precision, such as in industry and medical technology, movements in the micrometer range must not allow any errors. Algra developed a customized joystick that optimally combines mechanics and electronics to meet these requirements.

Solution: The Agnostic Joystick is based on Algra's sensor technology and can be individually adapted to customer requirements. Highly sensitive force sensors detect even the finest movements, while the dynamic design reacts to pressure and controls the connected function accordingly.

Result: The Agnostic Joystick enables intuitive and precise control in applications with maximum accuracy. The closed surface makes it hygienic and easy to clean, even for autoclavable applications in medical technology.
