Innovative control panel for SBB toilets: technologically advanced and geared towards the future

After 30 years, SBB was faced with the task of modernizing the WC facilities in its IC coaches. The control panel for light, toilet flushing, water, soap and hand dryers was a central component of this modernization. The panel not only has to withstand extreme stresses from tens of thousands of passengers every day, but also be resistant to vandalism. In addition, operation must be intuitive and accessible for all user groups - including visually impaired people.

Intuitive control panel for Drinkotec's innovative dispensing systems

Algra developed a customized HMI touch panel for Drinkotec's dispensing systems that works reliably even in difficult lighting conditions and with dirty fingers.

Challenge: Drinkotec needed an aesthetic and robust control panel for bars and restaurants that is intuitive to operate, works in all lighting conditions and is easy to clean. It needed to be operable without training and provide a precise, user-friendly touch experience.

Solution: Algra developed a customized HMI with tempered cover glass and multi-touch configuration that responds precisely to touch. LOCA technology was used to protect the display against moisture and changing light conditions. The aluminum frame was designed according to customer specifications and seamlessly integrated into the design.

The result: the HMI meets all requirements: clear, bright display even in direct sunlight, intuitive operation, robust and elegant. Algra delivered the product on time and adapted it perfectly to Drinkotec's requirements.
