Geberit Monolith Plus
Innovative flush release - aesthetic and easy to operate
Innovative control panel for SBB toilets: technologically advanced and geared towards the future
After 30 years, SBB was faced with the task of modernizing the WC facilities in its IC coaches. The control panel for light, toilet flushing, water, soap and hand dryers was a central component of this modernization. The panel not only has to withstand extreme stresses from tens of thousands of passengers every day, but also be resistant to vandalism. In addition, operation must be intuitive and accessible for all user groups - including visually impaired people.

Geberit Monolith Plus - The innovative flush actuator with consideration of hygienic design
In collaboration with Algra Group, Geberit developed a metal touch panel that works reliably even when operated with wet hands.
Challenge: Geberit needed a robust and modern operating system for its Geberit Monolith Plus series. It had to be easy to operate, aesthetically pleasing and simple to implement.
Solution: In close collaboration with Geberit, Algra developed a pressure-sensitive touch control system based on Agnostic Touch technology. The system was specially adapted to the requirements to ensure a sensitive input solution. The metallic surface fits perfectly with the Agnostic Touch technology.
Result: The new key development of the Monolith Plus is a top modern metal touch solution. The two buttons, short and long flush, can be described as soft touch. Whether dry, damp or wet hands - the system is based purely on the preset trigger force.
Algra's services:
- Development of a customized, pressure-sensitive touch control.
- Adaptation of the Agnostic Touch technology to the existing customer interface.
- Series production and delivery of the customized solution.

When you head on out to the Moon, in very short order, and you get a chance to look back at the Earth, that horizon slowly curves around in upon itself, and all of sudden you're looking at something that is very strange, but yet is very, very familiar, because you're beginning to see the Earth evolve.
